Joining Pascoe on the re-signed list today is [DT] Shaun Rogers, the 33 year old veteran who suffered a season ending blood clot in his leg last year and wound up on IR the whole season. There was plenty of buzz about Rogers’ ability to clog up the middle (he’s ~350 lbs), so obviously the Giants want to see him play before they part ways with the big guy. His salary rang in just under $1 mil this past season, so expect a similar number when his contract details are released.
Bringing back Rogers definitely helps the depth at [DT], which as of yesterday only had 3 other players (Joseph, Kuhn, Austin). Rogers probably isn’t viewed as a starter at his age, coming off a year on IR, so don’t be surprised if NYG still views the tackle spot as a big need this off-season.
